Members of the All Progressives Congress across Kaduna State unanimously backed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's re-election bid on Saturday. The endorsement exercise took place simultaneously in all 255 wards spanning the state's 23 local government areas.
Party members turned out in large numbers. Officials from the Independent National Electoral Commission monitored proceedings to ensure adherence to electoral rules.
Participants came from all three senatorial districts. Southern Kaduna, Central, and Northern zones recorded impressive attendance rates at their respective ward venues.
Governor Uba Sani personally monitored the exercise in various parts of the state. He praised the turnout and commended the orderly manner in which everything proceeded.
"Today's overwhelming affirmation across the 255 wards in Kaduna State is a clear reflection of the confidence our party members and the people have in the leadership of President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu," Sani noted.
According to him, the massive participation demonstrated the party's strength. He said the APC stood ready for the 2027 general elections.
"We remain committed to consolidating the gains of the current administration and sustaining purposeful leadership for the progress and stability of Nigeria," the governor added.
Sani urged party members to stay united. He called on them to strengthen organizational structures ahead of next year's polls.
Results collation is underway across all voting locations in the state. Designated local government officials are compiling returns for transmission to the state coordinator.
Governor Sani, serving as Chief Collation Officer, will receive the final consolidated result. He'll formally present it to the APC Presidential Primary Committee in Abuja.
That presentation is scheduled for Sunday, May 24, 2026. The announcement will mark the official conclusion of the endorsement process in the state.
The exercise wrapped up peacefully. Party members demonstrated renewed commitment to sustaining APC leadership at the national level.
