A Federal High Court in Dutse has started hearing arguments in a case brought by House of Representatives aspirant Elyakub Nabayi. He's challenging the APC primary election that made Hussaini Adamu Jabo the party's candidate for Hadejia/Auyo/Kafin Hausa.

The hearing took place via Zoom on Thursday. Nabayi's lawyer, Barrister Zaharadden Jamilu, told the court his client wasn't happy with how the primary was run.

Jamilu claimed irregularities and malpractice happened in three wards during voting. He presented these allegations as evidence of misconduct.

The APC's counsel, Barrister Baffa Alasan, disagreed sharply with the allegations. According to him, the primary followed all electoral rules and guidelines properly.

Alasan insisted no irregularities occurred during the exercise. He defended the process as transparent and lawful.

After hearing both sides, the judge postponed the case to July 2, 2026. The adjournment will allow lawyers to present witnesses and submit additional evidence before the court.
