Pilgrims from Jigawa State will touch down at home by Saturday, June 6, the state's Hajj coordinator announced over the weekend.

Alhaji Muhammad Hameem Nuhu Sunusi, the Ameerul Hajj and Emir of Dutse, made this known during a visit to pilgrim hostels in Makkah.

He went to congratulate them on finishing the annual rite successfully. The emir also praised their behaviour throughout the pilgrimage.

Sunusi commended the pilgrims for staying disciplined and patient during the exercise. He urged them to stick to airline baggage rules as they prepare to leave.

Checked bags must not exceed 23 kilograms, he warned. Hand luggage should be no more than eight kilograms, according to him.

Going beyond these limits will cause problems at the airport, the emir noted. He advised against excess baggage to prevent loss and delay.

In his words, the pilgrims had now completed a major pillar of Islam. Sunusi called on them to continue interceding for Jigawa's peace and progress.

He also asked for prayers for national unity and good governance. Nigeria needs such blessings, the emir added.
