Jigawa security forces retrieve cattle and motorcycles from criminals

Jigawa State Police have arrested multiple suspects linked to theft, rustling, and drug trafficking operations across the state. The crackdown involved intelligence work and cooperation with local vigilante groups.

Officers recovered a stolen vehicle, four motorcycles, seven cattle, three sheep, and over 5,800 assorted drugs during the operations. The recoveries came from various local government areas.

SP Shiisu Lawan Adam, the Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the results in a statement released this week. He noted the Command's continuing battle against crime has produced tangible outcomes.

On May 15, operatives working with local vigilantes arrested Isiyaku Isah, 26, and Musa Yakubu, 25. Both men hail from Birnin Kudu Local Government Area.

They had a red Boxer motorcycle in their possession. Police say the bike was stolen from Dabar Lantana in Ningi Local Government Area of neighboring Bauchi State.

During questioning, the suspects admitted to the theft and transporting the motorcycle into Jigawa. Investigators are working to return the bike to its owner.

Three days later, Malam Madori Division officers and neighborhood watch members recovered two motorcycles and four livestock items. The stolen goods were abandoned by fleeing suspects.

That same day, police arrested Emos Monday from Karshi in the Federal Capital Territory. He'd allegedly disappeared with a white Toyota Hiace bus assigned for an official Kano trip.

The vehicle bore registration number APP 235 JM Lagos. Acting on intelligence, officers tracked him down and recovered the bus.

On May 21, police arrested Umar Garba, 22, of Kazaure Local Government Area and Abubakar Adam, 25, from Kano. They're accused of stealing a Daylong motorcycle.

The suspects resprayed the bike from red to black to hide its identity. Officers recovered it as evidence.

A day earlier, operatives intercepted a white J5 vehicle on the Kano-Maiduguri Road in Kiyawa. Inside were four cows suspected stolen.

Five men were arrested in connection with that seizure. They are Ukasha Abubakar, 30, of Kano; Alhaji Ali Ibrahim, 42, of Borno; Ali Zakari, 20; Mohammed Adamu, 40, of Bauchi; and Mohammed Usman, 50.

Both the vehicle and cattle remain in police custody as evidence. All suspects are being questioned.

On May 22, officers arrested Nabagara Bura, 20, and Sale Adamu, 25. The men are residents of Tafa village in Bulangu District.

They were caught with two cows allegedly rustled from Shanwure Village. The animals are believed to have been stolen from Auyo Local Government Area.
