The All Progressives Congress has confirmed three senatorial candidates in Jigawa State for the 2027 elections. All three emerged through a consensus arrangement, party officials announced Monday.

Usman Dange, the APC's representative from national headquarters, made the disclosure after primary elections concluded across the state. He confirmed the candidates were affirmed unopposed during the party exercise.

Babangida Hussaini will fly the APC flag in Jigawa North West. Ahmad Malammadori secured the North East ticket, while Sani Garba won the South West nomination.

The state party chairman expressed satisfaction with turnout during the primaries. He noted enthusiasm was particularly strong in South West, currently held by the opposition PDP.

According to him, Governor Umar Namadi's leadership style drove the successful exercise. Party stakeholders' commitment to unity also played a crucial role, he told reporters.

"APC now has focused leadership that believes unity within the party is key to achieving progress," the chairman said. He vowed the party will reclaim the south west zone from the PDP next election.

All three candidates praised the transparent primary process after their affirmation. They pledged quality representation for their districts if elected in 2027.

Each candidate commended Governor Namadi, the party leadership, and other stakeholders involved. They credited these figures with ensuring a peaceful, rancour-free exercise.
