Chairman of Isoko South Local Government Area, Friday Ovoke Warri, has assured council staff that payment of the new minimum wage will commence in November.
Comrade Warri provided the assurance on Friday at the Chapel of Light in Oleh, where he was honored with an Award of Excellence in Art by council staff during a thanksgiving service marking his first 100 days in office.
Presenting the award on behalf of the staff, Mrs. Ethel Eghaire praised Warri as a dedicated leader committed to transformative results. She expressed hope that he would continue to receive support for further developmental projects that benefit Isoko South.
In response, Warri thanked the council staff for their unwavering support, highlighting their role in his administration’s accomplishments so far. He urged continued unity and collaboration to achieve the council’s objectives, aligning with Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s MORE agenda.
The thanksgiving service featured powerful performances by notable gospel ministers, including Evangelists Solo Kings, George Eriega, Minister Fortune, and Minister Igho Oziwele, adding a spiritually uplifting atmosphere to the event.
Attendees included the council's vice chairman, Theresa Oghale Ikrike; leader of the Isoko South legislative arm, Friday Olokor; Council Secretary, Victor Ekelega; Isoko South PDP chairman, Mrs. Iroro Ofrogbo; HPM Emakpor Odogwu; and various councilors, marking a notable turnout in support of Warri's leadership.
