In One Week, NNPCL Discovers 83 Illegal Refineries in Niger Delta Region

In a significant development for Nigeria’s oil and gas industry, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has uncovered a staggering 83 illegal refineries in the Niger Delta region within just one week.

The discovery comes as part of the company’s ongoing efforts to curb crude oil theft and pipeline vandalism in the country.

The illegal refineries were found in various locations across the Niger Delta, with 15 illegal pipeline connections also being identified during the same period.

The NNPCL has been working closely with the Nigerian government and security agencies to address this issue, which has long plagued the nation’s oil and gas sector.

The discovery of these illegal refineries highlights the scale of the problem facing Nigeria’s oil and gas industry, which has been grappling with the issue of crude oil theft and pipeline vandalism for many years.

The NNPCL has been actively taking measures to address this issue, including the deployment of advanced surveillance technology and the collaboration with local communities to report suspicious activities.

The Nigerian government has also been taking steps to address the issue of illegal refineries and pipeline vandalism, with President Muhammadu Buhari recently declaring a state of emergency in the oil and gas sector.

The government has also set up a special task force to tackle the problem, with the aim of bringing those responsible to justice and ensuring the security of the nation’s oil and gas infrastructure.

The discovery of these 83 illegal refineries in one week is a significant step forward in the fight against crude oil theft and pipeline vandalism in Nigeria.

It is hoped that the ongoing efforts of the NNPCL and the Nigerian government will lead to a more secure and prosperous future for the country’s oil and gas industry.
