IGP Olukayode Egbetokun Appoints Deputy FPRO, State PPROs to Boost Community Engagement and Strategic Communication

The Inspector General of Police, Olukayode Egbetokun, has approved the posting of dedicated Police Public Relations Officers (PPROs) and a Deputy Public Relations Officer at the Force Headquarters in Abuja.

This announcement was confirmed in a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi.

According to Adejobi, the newly appointed officers and their respective portfolios are as follows: CSP Isuku Victor Edailokun as Deputy Force Public Relations Officer at the Force Headquarters Abuja; DSP Ukandu Joshua to PPRO Ebonyi; ASP Buhari Abdullahi to PPRO Gombe; ASP John Timfon to PPRO Akwa-Ibom; and ASP Hundeyin Isaac Sewanu to PPRO Ports Authority Police (Western) Lagos.

The Inspector General of Police emphasized his commitment to standardizing and repositioning the Force in line with his vision statement.

He also expressed his wishes for the newly posted officers to succeed in their new roles while urging them to maintain a high level of professionalism and foster strong relationships with members of the public.

The appointments are a part of the ongoing efforts to strengthen the Nigerian Police Force’s community engagement and strategic communication strategies.

By appointing dedicated PPROs in various states and a Deputy FPRO at the Force Headquarters, the IGP aims to create a more transparent and responsive police force that effectively communicates with the public and addresses their concerns.

The newly appointed officers are expected to play a pivotal role in facilitating a smooth flow of information between the Nigerian Police Force and the public, thereby improving trust and cooperation between the two.

This initiative is a significant step towards achieving a more effective and accountable police force that is better equipped to serve the community and maintain law and order in the country.
