IGP Kayode Egbetokun Condemns Police Extortion and Corrupt Practices

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun has taken a strong stance against any form of extortion in the Nigeria Police Force.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the IGP warned all officers against using his name for any nefarious activities, emphasizing that such actions tarnish the reputation of the Force and erode public trust.

The warning comes in response to several incidents of police officers using the IGP’s name to engage in corrupt practices and extort money from innocent citizens.

The statement made it clear that any officer found guilty of such misconduct would face severe disciplinary measures.

The IGP urged the public to report any attempts to exploit his name for fraudulent activities or extortion, and emphasized the importance of transparency and professionalism in the Force.

He stressed that the integrity of the Nigeria Police Force is at stake if such corrupt practices are not eradicated.

The warning from the IGP sends a clear message that the Nigeria Police Force will not tolerate any form of extortion or corrupt practices.

It is a positive step towards ensuring that the Force maintains the highest standards of integrity and serves the public with honor and professionalism.
