Heartbreaking: Kidnappers Demand N100 Million for Release of Abducted Ekiti School Children and Teachers

The families of the five pupils and four staff members of the Apostolic Faith Group of Schools in Emure, Ekiti, are facing an unimaginable crisis as the kidnappers demand a staggering N100 million ransom for their release.

The principal of the school, Boje Olanireti, confirmed the ransom demand, highlighting the growing epidemic of kidnappings in Nigeria.

This heartbreaking news comes on the heels of the tragic deaths of two monarchs, the Onimojo of Imojo, Oba Olatunde Olusola, and the Elesun of Esun Ekiti, Oba Babatunde Ogunsakin. The Alara of Ara Ekiti, Oba Adebayo Fatoba, narrowly escaped the same fate.

The incident has left the community reeling, as they struggle to come to terms with the loss of their loved ones and the ongoing threat of further violence.

The government has been urged to take immediate action to address the issue of insecurity and to provide support to the families affected by this tragedy.

The abduction epidemic has continued to defy the efforts of the security agencies, as cases of kidnappings are being recorded in various parts of the country on a daily basis.

The effectiveness of all aspects of the country is being exposed, as even a stadium full of people could potentially be kidnapped, leaving security forces clueless.

As the nation grapples with this devastating situation, the families of the victims are left with an impossible choice: pay the ransom and risk further attacks or refuse to pay and face the possibility of losing their loved ones forever.

The emotional toll on the families and the community is immeasurable, as they wait with bated breath for a resolution to this horrific crisis.

In the meantime, the government must act swiftly to address the growing insecurity in the country and to ensure the safety of its citizens.

Failure to do so could result in further tragedies and the erosion of trust in the government’s ability to protect its people.
