Governor Dauda Lawal chaired Zamfara State's weekly security meeting on Thursday at the Government House in Gusau.

He pledged fresh backing for military personnel battling the state's worsening insecurity crisis. The governor promised to do whatever it takes to improve troops' welfare, his spokesman Sulaiman Bala Idris said.

Security agency heads attended the session. Their focus: strategies to boost operations in troubled zones across the state.

Lawal told them his administration stands ready to provide all necessary resources. He wants to ensure personnel deployed on security duties are well supported and effective.

The council also mapped out plans to strengthen troop positioning statewide. They discussed ways to quicken response times when emergencies strike.

Keeping Zamfara residents safe is his top goal, the governor stressed. He underlined that security remains central to his government's agenda.

Lawal made clear his door remains open to security chiefs. He said his office would collaborate closely with them to solve the state's mounting security troubles.
