Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State wants APC members to vote massively for President Bola Tinubu in 2027. He made the appeal on Thursday after casting his ballot in the gubernatorial primary at RCM Primary School in Ihugh.
According to Alia, Tinubu deserves another term to build on his achievements. He pointed to infrastructure expansion, economic reforms, and improved security as key accomplishments the president should consolidate.
The governor also highlighted job creation efforts and stronger governance as reasons for re-election. He believes these gains warrant continued support from Nigerian voters.
Alia promised to reach out to APC members who lost their contests. This includes aspirants for Senate, House of Representatives, and State Assembly positions.
He's determined to keep them within the party fold. "We need everyone working together to win," the governor said in essence.
Alia expressed delight at the turnout during the gubernatorial primary exercise. He called it a clear show of support from the people.
"Benue will become a destination everyone wants to visit," he told party members present. The governor pledged to transform the state significantly.
He noted his administration started from nothing. "I've laid solid foundations," Alia explained, "and there's much more coming."
According to him, what residents have witnessed so far is minimal. Much grander developments are in the pipeline for the state.
