Governor Abiodun’s Bold Move: 50% Discount on Rice to Combat Inflation in Ogun State

Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has announced a plan to sell rice to residents at half its price.

This initiative, which will begin with public servants across the board, aims to restore the purchasing power of public servants and mitigate the impact of inflation on their lives.

During the Special Iftar (breaking of fast) organized for the League of Imams and Alfas in the state at the Presidential Lodge in Abeokuta, Governor Abiodun stated, “We have decided to commence the sale of rice.

We will be selling it at the rate of 50% of the price.”

He further explained that the goal is to put public servants back in the position they were in before the inflation, thereby restoring their lost purchasing power.

The governor’s decision to sell rice at a 50% discount is not only a significant step towards addressing the economic challenges faced by residents of Ogun State, but it also demonstrates his commitment to the welfare of public servants.

By providing affordable access to a staple food like rice, Governor Abiodun aims to alleviate some of the burdens faced by civil servants and other public servants in the state.

This initiative comes at a time when the country is grappling with the effects of inflation, which has eroded the purchasing power of many Nigerians.

By offering a substantial discount on rice, Governor Abiodun is taking a proactive approach to support the people of Ogun State during these challenging times.

As the program is set to begin with public servants across the board, it is expected that the initiative will have a positive impact on the lives of many families in the state.

In addition, the move will likely boost morale among public servants and contribute to a more motivated workforce.

Governor Dapo Abiodun’s decision to sell rice at a 50% discount in Ogun State is a commendable effort to combat the effects of inflation and improve the lives of public servants.

This bold move not only addresses the immediate needs of the people but also sets an example for other leaders in Nigeria to follow in their efforts to support citizens during times of economic hardship.
