GIG Mobility has opened a new passenger terminal in Ekwulobia, Anambra State, to strengthen its national transport network and expand connectivity across Nigeria's South-East region. The facility at Solution Park will serve travellers from the commercial town and surrounding areas heading to major destinations nationwide.

Passengers using the terminal will access routes to Lagos destinations including Ajah, Iyana Ipaja, FESTAC and Jibowu. Services also connect the Federal Capital Territory and North-Central cities such as Utako, Kubwa, Maraba and Lokoja, as well as eastern and southern hubs including Enugu, Nsukka, Asaba, Benin and Port Harcourt.

The expansion forms part of GIGM's strategy to make inter-state travel more accessible while using technology to enhance the passenger experience. Enahoro Okhae, the company's chief executive officer, said the terminal would give commuters more travel options.

"The Ekwulobia terminal will provide passengers with improved travel options, while reinforcing our focus on scheduled services, passenger comfort and safety," Okhae said. He added that the new facility demonstrates GIGM's commitment to investing in underserved locations and linking more communities to key commercial and economic centres.

The opening is expected to improve mobility for Anambra residents and people in neighbouring communities by offering easier access to GIGM's nationwide network. The move reflects broader efforts by transport operators to invest in route expansion and modern infrastructure as demand for reliable inter-state road transportation continues to grow.
