Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State said on Wednesday that he was hopeful of resolving the political crisis with his predecessor, Nyesom Wike.
He said it was normal for a father and a son to have issues and assured that any differences, if any, would be settled.
The governor made the remarks when he received a military delegation led by the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, at the Government House in Port Harcourt, the state capital.
Fubara reiterated President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to peace and security in the country, especially during the upcoming elections this month.
The governor said, “We are okay in our dear state; there is no cause for alarm.
“If we have any internal issues, we will sort them out, and everything will return to normal.
“It’s not a big deal if a father and a son have a problem, if there is any problem at all, but I don’t think there is anything serious; whatever it is, we will surely resolve the issue.”
