Nigeria's Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, recently reaffirmed the nation's commitment to maintaining strong bilateral defense relations with France.

During a meeting with the outgoing French Ambassador to Nigeria, Emmanuelle Blatmann, and her delegation in Abuja, the Minister expressed Nigeria's readiness to enhance the existing partnership through training and technology transfer.

Appreciating the outgoing Ambassador for her efforts in fostering a cordial relationship with Nigeria, Badaru emphasized the strategic importance of the partnership between the two countries.

He pledged to strengthen these ties further for more effective cooperation in the future.

Ambassador Blatmann, in turn, commended Nigeria's warm reception and trust in her, while also highlighting the importance of developing intelligence-sharing cooperation to combat extremism, terrorism, and regional insecurity.

As she moves on to her new role as Head of African and Indian Ocean Affairs at the French Foreign Affairs Ministry, Blatmann assured that France will continue to deepen its defense relationship with Nigeria.

This commitment to cooperation between Nigeria and France in the defense sector is a positive step in addressing regional security challenges and promoting stability in the region.
