FG to Clear Two Years’ Debts Owed to NIN Enrollment Agents in Q1 2024

The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced plans to settle the two years’ worth of payments owed to National Identity Number (NIN) enrollment agents by the first quarter of 2024.

The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has been working closely with the government to address the backlog of payments owed to its enrollment agents, known as Front-End Partners (FEPs).

The move comes as a relief to the agents who have been struggling to maintain their businesses without payment for the past two years.

In a statement released by the NIMC, the Director-General, Engineer Abisoye Coker-Odusote, expressed her sympathy for the FEPs and assured them that the debts would be cleared in the first quarter of 2024.

She also mentioned that the recent revalidation exercise for FEPs helped the Commission determine the exact amount owed to them.

The new management of the Commission has been working diligently to ensure the efficient and effective enrollment processes in line with international best practices of securing citizens’ data.

The NIMC is also making efforts to obtain the necessary funds to clear the debt, as the previous management was unable to pay the outstanding amount due to insufficient funds.
