FG Hands Over Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road Project Site to Hitech Construction

The Federal Government has officially handed over the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road project site to Hitech Construction Nigeria Limited.

The Minister of Works, Mr. David Umahi, made the formal transfer during his visit to the construction site to inspect the progress of work done.

The project, which is expected to be completed within 36 months, will have sections two and three running concurrently.

The Federal Executive Council had earlier approved the construction of the Lagos-Port Harcourt-Calabar Coastal Superhighway to Messrs Hitech Construction Africa.

During his visit, Umahi emphasized the importance of on-time project completion and warned that no additional payments would be made for delays.

He also handed over the site to Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) to ensure environmental compliance, adding that the two companies would work closely together.

The Lagos State Government was commended by the minister for making a section of the gazetted route free for the project, demonstrating their support for its completion.

The minister directed that the realignment done from Kilometre 16, which had been approved by President Bola Tinubu, should be followed.

Hitech Construction Nigeria Limited is noted for their performance and ability to beat time.

The company has already completed 1.3 kilometers of dredging since the project’s award, indicating their commitment to a speedy completion.

The Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road project is now in the hands of Hitech Construction Nigeria Limited, and the company is expected to adhere to the project’s timeline and environmental compliance requirements.
