FG Disburses N105.5bn For 260 Roads Repairs Nationwide

The government has recently disbursed a total of N105.5 billion to fund the repair and rehabilitation of 260 roads nationwide.

This large-scale effort aims to improve road safety and reduce travel time for commuters.

The project, which spans across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, is expected to create thousands of jobs and stimulate local economies.

The government has emphasized the importance of transparency and accountability in the allocation of funds to ensure the timely and efficient completion of the project.

The Minister of Works, Engr. David Umahi, expressed his gratitude to the President for approving the project and stated that the government is committed to ensuring that all roads are in good condition.

He also mentioned that the emergency repairs on the 260 roads will cost a total of N217 billion, and the President has approved additional road construction works and upgrades.

Some of the roads that will be repaired include the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos, the construction of the Lekki Deep Seaport road, the reconstruction of two collapsed bridges in Enugu, and the rehabilitation of two locations on the Onitsha-Owerri Road.

This ambitious project is a welcome development for the millions of commuters who rely on these roads for their daily transportation needs.
