FG Announces June 15th as Conclusion Date for Ongoing Fire Service Recruitment

The Federal Fire Service (FFS) recruitment process is set to conclude on June 15th, 2024, according to the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire, and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB).

The announcement was made by the Interior Minister and CDCFIB chairman, Olubumi Tunji-Ojo, during a recent quarterly review meeting with the heads of the four paramilitary services under the Board’s supervision.

This new date aligns with the Board’s revised timeline for the employment process within the paramilitary services under its control.

Shortlisted candidates will receive notifications via email and mobile phone numbers, prompting them to visit the Board’s portal for further instructions.

Minister Tunji-Ojo also took the opportunity to warn the public about fraudulent messages circulating on social media, which request payment for job placement.

He emphasized that these messages are false and should be disregarded.

In addition to the recruitment update, the CDCFIB reviewed 118 cases involving officers from the four services under its supervision.

Disciplinary measures were taken against 48 Nigerian Correctional Service officers, 21 Nigeria Immigration Service officers, 12 Federal Fire Service officers, and 37 Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps officers.

The disciplinary actions included:

Dismissal of 30 officers
Recommendation for dismissal and prosecution of 5 officers
Recommendation for retirement of 9 officers
De-ranking and punishment of 17 officers
Recommendation to discharge, acquit, and issue commendation letters to 14 officers.
