Former Ekiti Governor Ayodele Fayose cast his ballot Saturday morning at St. David Primary School in Afao-Ekiti.

He arrived around 8:50 a.m. with his son, Bolu Fayose, an APC contestant for the state assembly.

Security operatives from the DSS, police, and NSCDC accompanied both men to the polling station. They were accredited through the BVAS system before voting commenced.

Heavy voter turnout marked the exercise across all eight polling units in the ward. Citizens of varying ages showed up early to participate in the election.

After voting, Fayose told reporters the process had been smooth and orderly. He noted there were no incidents of violence or disruption reported anywhere.

According to him, election officials performed better than in previous contests. Their conduct, he said, demonstrated visible improvement in the electoral process.

Fayose went further to forecast victory for Abiodun Oyebanji, the APC's governorship candidate. "Oyebanji has already won if you look at the state of things and how people feel," the former governor noted.

He predicted an "overwhelming victory" for Oyebanji based on current conditions in Ekiti. His assessment came after observing the polling environment firsthand.

Fayose praised security agencies for maintaining professionalism throughout the day. Their presence, he argued, had ensured the peaceful atmosphere observed at polling stations.

He called on political leaders to respect the election results once announced. Stakeholders should move forward and concentrate on governance, Fayose urged.
