Fake Prophet Jailed for 40 Years for Sexual Assault and Infecting 16-Year-Old with HIV in Uganda

A fake prophet has been sentenced to 40 years in prison by the High Court in Kampala, Uganda.

Elijah James Kimera, who led the All Faith Centre Church of All Nations in Lusanja, Wakiso District, was found guilty of sexually assaulting and infecting a 16-year-old girl with HIV/AIDS.

During the trial, it was revealed that Kimera had engaged in sexual acts with both the victim’s mother and the victim herself, taking advantage of their trust in him as a spiritual leader.

The court condemned his actions as a betrayal of the sacred trust placed in him by his congregation.

Justice Margaret Mutonyi, who presided over the case, likened Kimera to a “ferocious wolf in sheep’s clothing,” emphasizing the severity of his actions and the damage caused to the victim and her family.

The judge also dismissed Kimera’s expression of remorse as a manipulative attempt to sway the court’s decision.

The case highlights the need for vigilance in religious institutions and the importance of holding those in positions of power accountable for their actions.

It serves as a reminder that no one is above the law, and justice must be served to protect the vulnerable and uphold the sanctity of religious spaces.

In the wake of this shocking revelation, the All Faith Centre Church of All Nations and other religious organizations must take steps to ensure the safety and well-being of their congregations.

This includes implementing strict guidelines for the conduct of religious leaders, providing support for victims of abuse, and fostering a culture of transparency and accountability.
