Exclusive: Otumara, Daibo shun Chief Jemide led Itsekiri Committee

By Atevure Princess,

Warri South PDP leader, Chief Joseph Otumara and the member representing Warri South Constituency 1 in Delta State House of Assembly, Hon Shola Daibo, Monday shunned the Chief Isaac Jemide led 7-man committee set up by Warri Council of Chiefs to discuss with aspirants and other key stakeholders of Itsekiri Nation ahead of 2019 elections.

Advocate gathered that the Jemide committee had invited Chief Otumara as Itsekiri PDP leader and Dr. Alex Ideh as Itsekiri APC leader to a meeting yesterday, but while Dr. Alex Ideh appeared before the committee, Chief Otumara reportedly refused on the excuse that until his political party concludes her primary, he will have nothing to do with the Itsekiri Committee even though he’s a Chief in the Olu of Warri Palace.

A Source also hinted that Hon Shola Daibo refused to honour the Jemide Committee’s invitation without any tangible reason.

The Source also disclosed that former Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, Hon. Daniel Mayuku, Rt. Hon. JFK Omatsone, Chief Thomas Ereyitomi and Air Vice Marshall Terry Okorodudu (Retd.) were some of the Senatorial and House of Representatives aspirants that have so far appeared before the Chief Jemide Committee.

The committee is burdened with the task of coming up with choice of aspirants that will protect Itsekiri’s interest at the National and State legislatures if elected in the 2019 general elections.
