Ex-Gov. Jang mourns Ismaila Mabo

Jonah Jang, the immediate past governor of Plateau, has described the demise of Alhaji Ismaila Mabo as a huge loss to the state, and nation in general.

Jang said this in a condolence message by Clinton Garuba, his Media Consultant, issued on Monday in Jos.

The former governor said Mabo, who died at 80, had contributed immensely to sports development in Nigeria.

He said that the former Nigeria international defender had made indelible marks in the sports sector.

”He was one of the finest defenders in the history of football in this nation and had contributed in great ways in improving the game of football and sports in general.

”His contribution to sports development and the glory he brought to Nigeria and Plateau State in particular are still fresh.

”He will be greatly missed,”Jang said.

The former governor, who condoled with the family , prayed God to grant them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Mabo, a former Mighty Jets player, died on Monday in Jos.
