Senator Ede Dafinone has felicitated with Muslims in Delta Central and across Nigeria on the occasion of this year’s Eid al-Adha celebration, urging citizens to embrace peace, unity, compassion, and support for the less privileged as the nation navigates its current challenges.
In his Eid message, the lawmaker described the Islamic festival as a solemn reminder of the enduring virtues of faith, sacrifice, obedience, and total devotion to God as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim.
“I warmly felicitate with my Muslim brothers and sisters across Delta Central and Nigeria on the occasion of this year’s Eid al-Adha celebration,” Dafinone stated.
According to him, “Eid reminds us of the timeless virtues of faith, obedience, sacrifice, and total devotion to God, as demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim. It is a sacred season for reflection, gratitude, and renewed commitment to the values that strengthen our families, communities, and nation.”
The senator called on Nigerians to imbibe the spirit of love, peaceful coexistence, and generosity which defines Eid al-Adha, stressing the need for citizens to extend support to vulnerable members of society, irrespective of ethnic or religious differences.
“As we celebrate, I urge us all to embrace the spirit of peace, compassion, generosity, and unity that defines Eid al-Adha. Let us continue to show love to one another, support those in need, and uphold mutual respect regardless of ethnic or religious differences,” he said.
“Our collective progress depends on our ability to live together in harmony and work for the common good,” the senator added.
Dafinone also commended the Muslim community in Delta Central for what he described as their enduring contributions to peace, development, and social stability within the senatorial district.
“I sincerely appreciate the Muslim community in Delta Central for your enduring contributions to the peace, growth, and development of our district. Your resilience, enterprise, and commitment to peaceful coexistence remain deeply valued,” he noted.
The senator reaffirmed his commitment to inclusive representation and sustained support for initiatives targeted at youth empowerment, family welfare, and improved livelihoods across communities in Delta Central.
Speaking on the state of the nation, Dafinone urged Nigerians not to lose hope despite prevailing economic and social challenges, emphasising the need for collective responsibility and national unity.
“At this important moment in our national journey, I encourage all Nigerians to remain hopeful, united, and steadfast. Though challenges remain, we must continue to support one another and work collectively towards building a safer, stronger, and more prosperous nation for generations to come,” he stated.
“With faith, patience, and shared responsibility, we will overcome our challenges and achieve lasting progress,” the senator added.
He prayed for Allah’s blessings upon Muslim faithful, asking God to accept their sacrifices and acts of worship while granting peace, wisdom, and prosperity to the nation.
“As you mark this blessed celebration, may Allah accept your prayers, sacrifices, and acts of worship. May He grant peace to our homes, wisdom to our leaders, and enduring prosperity to our nation,” Dafinone said.
He wished Muslims across the country a joyful, peaceful, and spiritually fulfilling Eid al-Adha celebration.
