EEDC Pledges Improved Power Supply and Customer Experience in South-East Nigeria

The Deputy Managing Director (DMD) of the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC), Dr Ernest Mupwaya, announced the company’s commitment to improving the power supply and customer experience in South-East Nigeria.

The meeting, which aimed to promote efficient two-way communication with customers, addressed concerns about the current power supply situation and the company’s plans to enhance its services.

Mupwaya emphasized that the company’s mission extends beyond providing electricity, but also to ensure that its services exceed customers’ expectations and significantly improve their daily lives and businesses.

He acknowledged the importance of addressing customer complaints promptly and effectively, stating that the company has established a clear and accessible procedure for lodging and resolving complaints.

The EEDC Chief Technical Officer, Vincent Ekwekwu, apologized to customers for the poor power supply experienced across the network, explaining that it was a result of the gas constraint, which had impacted the performance of the generation companies.

He assured customers that the situation is being looked into by the Federal Government and that it is not a hopeless situation.

In the interest of safety, Dr Francis Iwu, Head, Health, Safety and Environment in EEDC, urged customers to use electricity properly and avoid building their houses or carrying out business activities under high-tension lines, which have claimed many lives.

Emeka Ezeh, Head, Corporate Communications of EEDC, highlighted the ongoing Standard Transfer Specification (STS) prepaid meter upgrade
