Edo APC Secretariat Under Siege: Youths and Women Demand State Exco’s Sack

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Secretariat in Benin City, Edo State, has been taken over by angry youths and women on Monday.

The protesters, led by the party’s Youth Leader Tony Adun (also known as Kabaka), stormed the building along Airport Road, vowing to stay for seven days.

The group is demanding the immediate removal of the state executive members, led by acting Chairman Jarret Tenebe, citing their dissatisfaction with the conduct of the officials during Saturday’s primary election.

The protesters forced their way into the offices and brought out furniture, bags of rice, and other equipment as a sign of protest.

The Edo APC 2024 governorship primary election has been fraught with controversy, as it has produced three different winners.

One of the top contenders, Senator Professor Oserheimen Osunbor, has called on President Bola Tinubu to intervene in the looming crisis and cancel the flawed primaries.

The situation at the Edo APC Secretariat highlights the growing tensions within the party and the need for a resolution to address the concerns of its members.

As the protests continue, it remains to be seen how the party will respond to the demands of the protesters and resolve the ongoing conflict.
