Anthony Adefuye, a member of the governance advisory council (GAC) in the Lagos state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has urged Nigerians to be patient with President Bola Tinubu.
Adefuye, a third republic senator, believes that the president’s reforms will soon yield positive results.
Adefuye also appealed to President Tinubu to announce the minimum wage, so that people can have the power to purchase what they need rather than relying on temporary relief measures.
He expressed concern about the funds being recovered from officials who served in the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari, stating that it was alarming to see such corruption during a disciplined regime.
Despite acknowledging the economic hardship in the country, Adefuye is optimistic that the situation will improve.
He pointed out that the dollar rate is already coming down, which is a positive sign for the stabilization of the economy.
The call for patience and the announcement of the minimum wage are crucial steps to address the current economic challenges.
By empowering the people with the ability to purchase essential goods and services, the government can help alleviate some of the hardship faced by its citizens.
