DTHA passes vote of confidence on Okowa, endorse him for second term

The Delta State House of Assembly has passed a vote of confidence on the State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa.

 

 

 

 

 

 

The member, representing Ughelli North 1, Hon Samuel Mariere, moving a motion under matters of urgent public importance at plenary on Wednesday, said that a confidence vote be passed on the governor for his developmental strides.

 

 

 

According to him, the governor has turned the state into a construction site, saying that the developmental strides of the governor were worth commending.

 

 

 

The motion was seconded by the Majority Leader of the House, Hon Tim Owhefere,  who represents Isoko North Constituency. The motion was subjected to a thorough debate.

 

 

 

Lawmakers in their contributions at plenary presided over by the Speaker, Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, posited that the governor was doing well and should be given a pat on the back for his tireless efforts in giving the state a new meaning.

 

 

 

The motion, when put into a voice vote by Speaker Oborevwori was unanimously adopted by the House.
