A senior member of the Peoples Redemption Party believes Donald Duke will triumph over President Tinubu and Peter Obi in 2027. Datti Baba-Ahmed made the bold claim during an appearance on Symfoni TV.
Duke, the former Cross River governor, is one of Nigeria's most qualified political figures, Baba-Ahmed argued. He said Nigerians haven't yet grasped Duke's true national appeal and leadership strength.
Duke clinched the PRP's presidential ticket recently. "In a free and fair election, Donald Duke wins," Baba-Ahmed declared on the programme.
He warned that voters made the same error with Peter Obi before 2023. Many underestimated Obi's chances back then, he noted.
Duke's potential could easily suffer a similar misjudgement, Baba-Ahmed cautioned.
