Develop your skills, Ekiti governor’s wife urges youths

Wife of Ekiti Governor, Dr Olayemi Oyebanji, has urged Nigerian youths to develop their potential in order to be useful to themselves and the society.

Oyebanji stated this in Ado-Ekiti while hosting the executive members of Nigeria Youth Congress (NYC) in Ado-Ekiti on Tuesday.

She said that self-development in areas like agriculture, sports and other skilful jobs would make them financial independent and promote their wellbeing, if properly harnessed.

According to her, white collar jobs were no longer available to most Nigerian youths, particularly the graduates, hence the need for them to be creative and always follow the right paths.

She called on the youth to be well informed about current happenings around them so as not to be emotionally overwhelmed and take laws into their hands.

“Wherever you feel I can partner with your organisation, just let me know. I am ready to collaborate with you. Just be diligent in whatever you do because it is whatever you have that you can offer,” the governor’s wife said.

The outgoing chairman of NYC, Mr Tosin Adesuyi, said that the congress was committed to fulfilling its mandate of redirecting the path of young populace toward attaining greatness.

The newly-elected chairman of the congress, Mr Adedara Temitope, promised to continue to represent the interest of the youth in the state.
