Widows under the Delta State Widows Welfare Scheme have applauded Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for the prompt release of their October stipends, describing the timely intervention as a lifeline amid harsh economic realities. For many of the beneficiaries, the monthly support provides both relief and renewed hope in the face of emotional and financial hardship.

State Coordinator of the scheme, Chief Isioma Okonta, told journalists in Asaba that the payments to all 10,000 verified widows were made directly into their bank accounts on October 19th, 20th, and 21st, following the Governor’s directive. He praised Oborevwori’s “compassionate and exemplary leadership,” noting that the administration’s consistency has continued to put smiles on the faces of vulnerable women across the state.

Okonta further disclosed that the free healthcare registration approved by the Governor is nearing completion, adding that the initiative will offer crucial medical support to the widows. Many beneficiaries, moved by the sustained attention to their welfare, offered heartfelt prayers for Governor Oborevwori, wishing him strength and God’s grace to continue his service to Delta State and the nation.
