Delta State University Matriculates 2,450 Students: A New Era of Science and Technology in Nigeria

The Delta State University of Science and Technology (DSUST), Ozoro, recently matriculated 2,450 newly admitted students for the current academic session.

The event, held at the university’s event and convocation arena, marked a significant milestone in the institution’s history.

During the ceremony, Vice Chancellor Prof. Jacob Oboreh congratulated the new students and urged them to be worthy ambassadors of their parents.

He emphasized the importance of discipline and diligence in distinguishing themselves as worthy undergraduates of DSUST.

Oboreh also highlighted the institution’s commitment to providing a conducive environment for teaching and research activities.

The university currently boasts six faculties, including Administration and Management, Agriculture, Computing, Engineering, Environmental Science, and Science.

In his 100 days in office, Governor Oborevwori inaugurated several legacy projects at the university, including a new Administrative Building, 2 Kilometre internal road, Vice-Chancellor’s Lodge, University Guest House, Staff School Building, and Principal Officers’ Residential Quarters.

These developments align with the governor’s MORE agenda, a holistic roadmap for the advancement of Delta State.

DSUST has received approval from the National Universities Commission of Nigeria (NUC) for its 45 departments and 45 programs.

The university has also recruited qualified lecturers and procured equipment for its workshops and laboratories to ensure a high standard of education.

As the university continues to grow, it aims to compete with other institutions in terms of teaching, research, and development.

The ongoing construction of three gigantic faculty complexes is a testament to this commitment.

The Delta State University of Science and Technology is poised to become a leading institution in Nigeria, fostering innovation and excellence in the fields of science and technology.
