Delta State is set for a historic political shift as Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, and the entire structure of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the state prepare to formally join the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a statement issued by the Delta State APC Publicity Secretary, Valentine Onojeghuo, the party described the event as a “massive political earthquake that has transformed the landscape of the entire Delta State.”
The grand reception is scheduled for Monday, April 28, 2025, at the Asaba Cenotaph by 9:00 AM, and will be graced by top dignitaries, including the Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima; APC National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje; Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum, Senator Hope Uzodinma; Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo (SAN); Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, and other key figures.
“This landmark event, which has shattered the political firmament of the State, marks a new dawn for the progressive family in Delta State,” Onojeghuo declared, calling it a symbol of “unity, inclusivity, and our collective commitment to growth and development.”
The APC emphasized that Governor Oborevwori’s move aligns his M.O.R.E. Agenda with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope vision, “charting a new course for the destiny of the State.”
Party members, supporters, and the general public have been urged to “massively mobilize” for what is being hailed as “an epochal chapter in our political history.”
