Delta PDP slams APC’s Onojeghuo over “Misinformation”on Abraka-Eku Road claims

The Delta State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has dismissed recent remarks by the state APC Publicity Secretary, Mr. Valentine Onojeghuo, as “misinformed and misleading,” over claims regarding the Abraka-Eku road project.

In a statement by its Publicity Secretary, Olorogun Sunday Apah, the PDP clarified that the Abraka-Eku road is a federal road, not under the jurisdiction of the state government, contrary to claims that it was awarded by the Oborevwori-led administration.

“The management and contracts concerning the Abraka-Eku road remain strictly a federal responsibility,” Apah stated. “Accusing the Delta State Government of corruption over a federally controlled project exposes a serious misunderstanding of governance structures.”

The PDP further described Onojeghuo’s allegations of cronyism as reckless political grandstanding, calling his comments an attempt to stoke tension and mislead the public.

Highlighting Governor Oborevwori’s commitment to infrastructure, Apah pointed to the approved rehabilitation of the old Umutu-Abraka-Eku road — a state-managed project aimed at improving transportation and connectivity for Deltans.

He criticized the APC spokesperson for promoting unfounded accusations driven by political rivalry rather than genuine concern for public accountability, stating, “Leaders should prioritize truth and constructive dialogue over sensational claims.”

The PDP reaffirmed the administration’s readiness to work across political divides for the good of Delta State while urging political actors to engage responsibly in the public interest.
