The Commissioner of Police in Delta State, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, has commended Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori for his sustained investment in security, saying the administration's support has significantly strengthened policing, enhanced operational efficiency, and improved public safety across the state.
CP Oyeniyi gave the commendation during a courtesy visit by the Chairman of the Delta State Security Trust Fund (DSSTF), Hon. Barr. Daniel Mayuku, who led members of the Board and management, including the Executive Secretary, Hon. Barr. Samuel Osasa, to the Delta State Police Command Headquarters in Asaba. The visit focused on deepening collaboration between the Security Trust Fund and the Nigeria Police Force in the collective fight against crime and the protection of lives and property.
The Police Commissioner expressed profound appreciation to the Delta State Government and the Security Trust Fund for their consistent support to the Command, conveying the gratitude of the Inspector-General of Police to Governor Oborevwori for his unwavering commitment to strengthening the operational capacity of the Police through strategic investments in security infrastructure and logistics.
He specifically lauded the Trust Fund for facilitating the construction of a modern interrogation room and a state-of-the-art data room at the Command Headquarters, describing the facilities as vital assets that have enhanced intelligence gathering, investigations, and crime-fighting operations. CP Oyeniyi, however, appealed for sustained assistance in the maintenance of operational vehicles, provision of advanced technological equipment, expansion of community policing initiatives, and improved public engagement through digital and social media platforms.
Responding, Chairman of the Delta State Security Trust Fund, Hon. Barr. Daniel Mayuku, reaffirmed the Board's commitment to strengthening all security agencies through strategic investments in infrastructure, logistics, and operational support. He said the Trust Fund would continue to provide the resources needed to enable security agencies effectively discharge their constitutional responsibilities.
Also speaking, the Executive Secretary of the Trust Fund, Hon. Barr. Samuel Osasa, assured the Police Commissioner that the Oborevwori administration remains steadfast in implementing initiatives aimed at consolidating security gains across the state. He pledged that the Board would continue to channel available resources towards improving security infrastructure and supporting programmes that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of security operations.
The meeting concluded with both the Delta State Police Command and the Delta State Security Trust Fund reaffirming their shared commitment to strengthening collaboration, improving security architecture, and sustaining peace, public confidence, and the protection of lives and property across Delta State.
