Leaders and stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta Central Senatorial District have reaffirmed their support for Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, passing a unanimous vote of confidence on his leadership.
The motion for the confidence vote was moved by Hon. Sunny Emeyese, a former member of the House of Representatives, during a meeting held at Osubi, Okpe Local Government Area, on Friday. It was seconded by Hon. Felix Anirah, a former member of the State House of Assembly, and received unanimous approval from those present.
Highlighting the governor’s achievements over the past 18 months, the leaders praised his performance and pledged to work collaboratively with stakeholders from Delta North and Delta South Senatorial Districts to secure his re-election in 2027.
They called on party faithful within the senatorial district to remain united and committed to the PDP's ideals, emphasizing the need for collective effort to ensure victory for the governor and other party candidates in the upcoming elections.
The meeting was chaired by Delta Central PDP Chairman Hon. Anthony Akpomiemie and attended by prominent party figures, including Deputy Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Arthur Akpowowo, Prof. Sam Oyovbaire, Senator Emmanuel Aguariavwodo, Chief Emmanuel Ighomena, Chief Solomon Ighrakpata, Elegbete Moses Odibo, Prof. Andrew Ekakitie, Chief Eddie Ono-Sorhue, Hon. Charles Oniyere, Chief Godwin Atuse, and other elected and appointed political office holders from Delta Central.
The gathering underscored the party’s resolve to strengthen its unity and position itself for continued success under Governor Oborevwori’s leadership.
