The Delta State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has condemned the killing of its Ethiope East Local Government Area Vice Chairman, Mr Ese Idisi, describing his death as “brutal, condemnable and devastating.”

The party in a statement signed by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Valentine Onojeghuo, the APC called for an immediate and full-scale investigation by the police.

APC State Chairman, Elder Omeni Sobotie, said the party was “profoundly sorrowed, shocked and devastated” by the murder, adding that the incident had left “a painful void — not only in his home and community, but also within the APC family in Ethiope East.” The statement described the late Idisi as “a loyal, committed and dependable party man who contributed immensely to the growth of the Party.”

The party urged security agencies to move swiftly, insisting that “nothing short of a thorough, uncompromising and professional investigation will suffice.” It stressed that the perpetrators, sponsors and all those connected to the killing must be “identified, apprehended and brought to justice without delay.”

Reacting to rumours of political motives behind the incident, the APC cautioned against speculative claims, saying such suggestions were “false, reckless and capable of inflaming tensions.” It warned members and stakeholders against “speculative, sensational or politically motivated statements” that could disrupt party unity while investigations are ongoing.

The statement reaffirmed that the APC in Delta State is enjoying renewed internal cohesion under the leadership of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and urged members to remain calm and focused. “Our collective priority must be to support the ongoing investigation, stand with the bereaved family and ensure that justice is pursued to its logical conclusion,” the party said.

The APC reiterated its commitment to the rule of law, the protection of its members, and the strengthening of the party across Delta State.
