The De Renaissance Patriots, a group representing the IBILE people of Lagos State, has called on President Bola Tinubu to consider appointing an indigene to represent Lagos State in the Federal Executive Council (FEC) if a cabinet reshuffle is imminent.
The group's President, Prince Adelani Adeniji-Adele, emphasized the importance of selecting a full-fledged minister from any of the IBILE divisions to strengthen the relationship with the indigenes and address their concerns of alienation.
In a statement released on Friday, Adeniji-Adele congratulated President Tinubu on the recent Democracy Day celebrations and expressed support for any cabinet changes that would enhance the versatility of his administration.
He stressed that appointing a substantive minister from Lagos State, rather than a junior minister, would be a significant gesture towards acknowledging the contributions and aspirations of the indigenes.
The group's appeal comes amidst reports of a possible cabinet reshuffle by President Tinubu.
The De Renaissance Patriots believe that such a move would not only cement a better relationship with the indigenes but also assuage their feelings of being alienated.
