Nasir Yahya Daura, Speaker of the Katsina State House of Assembly, has won the APC senatorial ticket for Katsina North. He polled 78,394 votes in Monday's primary election.

His closest challenger, Ahmed Kabir, managed only 2,274 votes. Daura Zone comprises twelve local government areas across the senatorial district.

Dr. Yakubu Maccido, representing the APC national secretariat, announced the results at Daura Motel.

"Having scored the highest number of votes, I hereby declare Hon. Nasiru Yahya as the winner of the primary election for Katsina North Senatorial District," he said.

Daura thanked delegates and party officials for their backing. He promised effective representation if he wins the 2027 general elections.

He also called for unity among APC members before the polls. Party cohesion, he noted, would strengthen their chances at the ballot box.

Governor Dikko Umaru Radda oversaw the affirmation of two sitting senators. Both retained their party tickets without contests.

Senator Muntari Muhammad Dandutse got unanimous endorsement for Katsina South. Stakeholders ratified his candidacy at the Isma'ila Isa Funtua Township Stadium.

Senator Abdulaziz Musa Yar'adua won affirmation for Katsina Central. The endorsement happened at Katsina Township Stadium.

Dr. Yakubu Maccido Ahmed, APC Electoral Committee chairman, explained the process.

According to him, aspirants and stakeholders agreed unanimously on both nominations.

He noted the affirmations showed unity within the party. "This reflects internal cohesion and strategic alignment," Maccido told reporters.
