Crystal Palace secured their maiden European final berth by dismantling Shakhtar Donetsk across two legs. The aggregate scoreline read 5-2 in the Eagles' favour.

Palace arrived at Selhurst Park nursing a 3-1 lead from Poland. They wrapped up the tie with a 2-1 victory at home on Thursday night.

An own goal from Pedro Henrique opened the floodgates for the hosts. Ismaila Sarr added the second to confirm progression.

Oliver Glasner, the Palace manager, now stands on the brink of something special. He can guide the club to their first European trophy.

Rayo Vallecano await in the final after disposing of Strasbourg. The Spanish outfit won 2-0 on aggregate in their semi-final tie.

Glasner addressed his players' achievement in an emotional interview with TNT Sports. "This is the reward you can't buy," he told the broadcaster.

In his words, he reminded them why they became footballers as children. The manager also referenced Palace's FA Cup final appearance last year.

"Now we're playing the next final together," Glasner added of his squad's remarkable trajectory. He praised their commitment to the club throughout.

Leipzig will host the Conference League final on May 27. The match kicks off later this month between Palace and Vallecano.
