The court in Yaba, Lagos State, has allowed singer Naira Marley, whose real name is Azeez Fashola, and socialite Sam Larry, also known as Balogun Eletu, to go free on bail of N20 million.
They also have to provide three reliable sureties.
Naira Marley, Sam Larry, and two others had been charged and detained on October 6 over the death of singer Mohbad, whose birth name was Ilerioluwa Aloba.
The magistrate, Adeola Olatunbosun, ordered the defendants to give up their passports and report to the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, Panti, every week.
She said, “The defendants must hand over their passports and appear at the State Criminal Investigation Department every week as part of the bail conditions.”
She also warned that she should not be contacted directly about the case.
She said, “Any attempts to contact me directly will be recorded and could be revealed in public court proceedings.”
