Justice Joyce Abdulmalik of the Federal High Court in Abuja has rejected a bail application from John Jude Agbo, who stands accused of plotting attacks on multiple schools across the nation's capital. The judge ruled that there was insufficient evidence to guarantee Agbo would not flee, ordering him remanded to the Nigerian Correctional Service instead.

Agbo faces terrorism and cybercrime charges relating to alleged plans to target schools, their pupils and staff in the FCT. The Department of State Security arrested him on suspicion of orchestrating these attacks.

During proceedings, a DSS investigator testified about how the agency probed Agbo and his alleged associates. The officer presented an audio-visual recording of Agbo's interview, which the court admitted and played publicly.

The prosecution then formally wrapped up its case after presenting its fourth witness. Justice Abdulmalik scheduled the matter for September 24 to allow Agbo to mount his defence.
