Christ death and resurrection is the foundation of Christianity -Rev. Samugana

The General Overseer, Holy Ghost Flames and Streams Ministry, Benin, Rev. Isreal Samugana JP have said that the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ is the foundation upon which all Christian faith is built.

Rev. Samugana made this known while speaking to our Correspondent after a special Easter service that rounded off their 3-day Easter retreat in Benin.

The Clergyman said that the crucifixion of Christ on the cross of Calvary and his resurrection after being buried for three days reconciled mankind back to God.

While pointing out that the resurrection of Jesus Christ gave mankind power over the devil and his agents, Rev. Samugana explained that the scriptures made it clear that his death and resurrection brought redemption to mankind and victory to Christians.

“Easter is the foundation of Christianity irrespective of the denomination. According to the book of John 19:30 of the Holy Bible, all the iniquity of mankind ended on the cross of Calvary. Mankind was redeemed and gained victory over the devil and his cohorts. So when we pray in the name of Jesus we receive healing and whatever we ask because the foundation has been laid by the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ”.

Rev. Samugana urged Christians to continue to trust in God and love one another and live by the teachings of Christ as it is the only way to gain eternal life.
