Joshua Chinedu Obika has quit the All Progressives Congress for the Nigerian Democratic Congress. The House of Representatives member represents AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituency in the FCT.

His defection comes just two months after he switched from the Labour Party to the APC. Obika joined the ruling party on March 11, 2026, seeking a return ticket.

The APC denied him that ticket despite his recent move. He now has an automatic ticket from the NDC to run for a second term.

Several lawmakers have been jumping ship to the NDC lately. This surge followed Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso joining the party on Sunday.
