CEVA Logistics and EFL Africa have joined forces to establish a new joint venture in Nigeria called CEVA EFL Limited. Both companies announced the partnership today, signaling their shared commitment to strengthening their grip on West Africa's logistics market.

Nigeria's logistics sector ranks among the world's largest and most active. It serves as the crucial entry point for businesses aiming to reach the broader West African region.

EFL brings deep roots in Nigeria's logistics landscape and proven operational skills to the table. CEVA contributes its sprawling worldwide network, which spans over 170 countries, plus comprehensive logistics capabilities.

Together, they'll create a seamless connection between Nigeria, West Africa, and global markets. Their combined muscle will help Nigerian businesses access international opportunities more easily.

The partnership delivers practical benefits to customers across multiple areas. Barge operations will move shipping containers directly from Lagos ports to Inland Container Depots, cutting out long road journeys.

Transit times will shrink significantly under this arrangement. Road network congestion, a persistent challenge for Lagos logistics, becomes less of a headache.

CEVA EFL operates 140,000 square meters of ICD space across two locations—Ikorodu and Apapa. An export processing terminal sits within this infrastructure.

Customs clearance services round out the offering. The joint venture employs licensed, in-house teams to handle clearance work efficiently.

Sylvain Kluba, Finance Vice President for IMEA at CEVA Logistics, praised the move. In his words: "This joint venture represents a bold step forward in our commitment to connecting Nigeria and West Africa to the world."

Kluba noted that combining CEVA's global reach with EFL's local expertise positions them uniquely. "Together, we are creating a logistics ecosystem that drives growth and unlocks new opportunities in this high-potential market," he added.

EFL's CEO, Yemi Adunola, shared similar enthusiasm about the collaboration. He told reporters the partnership underscores both firms' vision for transforming logistics across Nigeria and West Africa.

According to Adunola, the venture addresses market complexities while generating customer value. "By leveraging our combined strengths, we are not only addressing the challenges of this complex market but also creating value for our customers through efficient, integrated and customer-focused solutions," he said.

The joint venture benefits extend beyond just the two partners. Nigeria gains by welcoming a global logistics giant into its market.

Knowledge transfer to local staff will strengthen the workforce's capabilities. EFL itself will accelerate growth and deepen its regional presence through this alliance.

Economic development in West Africa stands to benefit from improved logistics connectivity. The partnership creates a foundation for sustainable business growth across the region.
