Brazil's Casemiro etched his name into World Cup history on Monday when he netted against Japan in the Round of 32 clash. The 34-year-old midfielder struck in the 56th minute as the Seleção claimed a 2-1 victory and advanced to the Round of 16.

At 34 years and 126 days old, Casemiro became the second-oldest Brazilian goalscorer in World Cup history. Only Bebeto, who scored against Denmark on July 3, 1998, at 34 years and 137 days old, ranks ahead of him on that list.

The former Manchester United and Real Madrid star's goal underscored Brazil's dominance in the knockout phase. His achievement adds another chapter to his decorated career on football's grandest stage.
