Borno: Boko Haram kills 13 rice farmers with knives

On Sunday evening, suspected Boko Haram militants attacked rice farmers who were working on their farms in Mafa Local Government Area of Borno State. The attackers, who came on motorcycles, split into three groups and surrounded the farmers in Karkut and Koshebe General Areas. They killed at least 13 farmers with knives and cutlasses, while many others are still missing. The Civilian Joint Task Force and security agencies are searching for the survivors.

The attack has caused grief and sorrow in the town of Zabarmari, where most of the victims came from. This is not the first time that Boko Haram has targeted rice farmers in the area. Last year, they killed more than 40 farmers in a similar attack.
