Drug enforcement agents stopped a 30-year-old man on the Abuja-Kaduna highway last May. Sunusi Musa was carrying 380 rounds of military-grade ammunition.

Officers nabbed him at Jere during a routine patrol on May 24. He was allegedly moving the 7.62mm bullets toward Katsina State.

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) handed over Musa and the seized ammunition to other security officials. They'll handle the further investigation, NDLEA said.

Femi Babafemi, the agency's media director, disclosed the intercept in a statement on Sunday. He noted the seizure reflects ongoing efforts to stop illegal arms circulation nationwide.

In a separate operation, agents arrested three people in Kaduna. They seized 100 jumbo bags of skunk during the raid at Gonin Gora.

Police took into custody Musa Sunday, Mercy Sunday, and Salomi Ezekiel. The drug haul weighed approximately 1,246 kilograms.

Across in Lagos, NDLEA discovered hidden narcotics in water purifier machines. The shipment came from the Netherlands and arrived at a courier facility on May 26.

Officers uncovered three kilograms of ketamine inside the machines. They also found 199 grams of MDMA pills, commonly called Ecstasy.

Niger State saw its own major drugs bust last month. Agents raided a warehouse at Gidan Kukah in Bosso Local Government Area.

They recovered 457 kilograms of skunk from the location. Godwin Zakka was arrested in connection with the seizure.

Enugu State operatives intercepted a commercial vehicle along the Onitsha-Enugu Expressway. They confiscated 22,000 tramadol pills during the checkpoint stop.

Agents also recovered 100 ampoules of pentazocine and 200 grams of bromazepam. James Maigari Wisdom faced arrest over the discovery.

Mohammed Buba Marwa heads the NDLEA as chairman and chief executive. He praised officers involved in these recent operations.

According to him, agents must keep up the pressure against traffickers. "Sustain the momentum," he urged the team fighting drug abuse nationwide.
