Four men face arrest over a deadly clash between farmers and herders in Gulma, Kebbi State that claimed eight lives.

Police identified the suspects as Adamu Madugu, Musa Makera, Saidu Adamu, and Shafi'u Hamza.

They'll be charged with Criminal Conspiracy, Unlawful Assembly, and Culpable Homicide, according to SP Bashir Usman, the state police spokesperson.

Usman told reporters the force is hunting for other suspects still on the run connected to the incident.

Police Commissioner Umar M. Hadejia promised justice for the victims' families and the wider community.

"We will pursue this to its logical conclusion," the commissioner noted. "All those found responsible will face the full force of the law."

Authorities urged residents to stay calm and law-abiding during the investigation.

Officials warned against residents taking justice into their own hands over the violence.

"The Command remains committed to maintaining peace and protecting lives and property," the statement read. The police also vowed to ensure justice for all those affected by the deadly confrontation.
